CHOICE outreach consists of partnering with agencies and organizations such as the Family Planning Council of SEPA, Philadelphia Department of Health, schools, colleges, and health care providers in the greater Philadelphia area with the goal of raising public awareness of reproductive and sexual health issues especially among low-income women, men, and teens.
CHOICE uses various outreach channels including:
- Distributing CHOICE materials such as wallet cards, fact sheets, and other publications.
- Participating in health fairs and other community organization events.
- Using social media and other online methods.
- Conducting street outreach including distributing safer sex kits.
CHOICE is always ready to work with agencies and organizations on public awareness campaigns. Recent partnerships include the I Matter Campaign, a teen pregnancy prevention program being spearheaded by the Family Planning Council and the Philadelphia Department of Health’s Take Control Campaign, which is a new campaign by Philadelphia officials to reduce sexually transmitted diseases. CHOICE wallet cards with information about calling the CHOICE hotline are included in the condom mailings.
